Not you parents' newspaper

Newspapers might be on their way out but some feel as though it just needs to be adjusted for the digital age. Regardless, the traditional newspaper as we know it is dying very fast. Here is some info from Gajitz:

Designers have been all about the e-paper designs lately, and a major electronics company even unveiled a working prototype in early 2010. But so far, the designs haven’t centered on trying to maintain a familiar form. That’s where this concept from student designers Manny Darden, Jae Kim and Scott Liao differs from the others: it’s meant to call to mind the traditional look and feel of a newspaper. Its four-column layout does indeed look like one of those old-fashioned newspaper contraptions, but with some notable improvements: it’s weatherproof, the content is user-controlled, and it’s much thinner than a newspaper but with more information.

Canon Wonder Camera Concept promises single-lens perfection (video)

I don't know how I missed this, but this looks sweet. This will be the death of all SLR cameras.
Here is what Engadget had to say...............

HTC EVO Shift 4G release date January 9th 2011

This new HTC Evo Shift/Knight looks great! For those of you who really need that keyboard in your life, this is the smartphone for you. Here are some of the specs:

The smartphone in this picture appears to be inside of a case, so the actual device will be slightly smaller.

Additional Details of the HTC Shift 4GThe full set of specifications for this smartphone has yet to emerge, but a great many details have leaked out.
The Shift 4G is going to run Android OS 2.2 on a 1 GHz processor, and this might be a dual-core chip.
On its front will be a 3.7-inch touchscreen and standard set of control buttons. The resolution for the display is not yet known, but it's most likely WVGA.
The Sprint logo on the leaked pictures makes it clear which carrier will be offering this model. And the "4G" in its name indicates that it will support this carrier's WiMAX service. This would make it Sprint's third model with this very fast cellular-wireless networking service.
Unconfirmed reports also indicate that this smartphone is going to have an 8 megapixel camera, but, somewhat surprisingly, it won't have a front-facing camera.
However, some details still remain a mystery, such as its storage capacity.
The HTC Knight/Shift 4G will reportedly be released early next year, possibly at CES, a giant electronics tradeshow that kicks off on January 6. - source

The Beaver

At first I thought this was a documentory on Mel Gibson's life. After seeing the trailer, I'm even more convinced that its a story about his life.

Coming out Feb 11, 2011

Two-time Academy Award winner Jodie Foster directs and co-stars with two-time Academy Award winner Mel Gibson in The Beaver – an emotional story about a man on a journey to re-discover his family and re-start his life.

Plagued by his own demons, Walter Black was once a successful toy executive and family man who now suffers from depression. No matter what he tries, Walter can't seem to get himself back on track... until a beaver hand puppet enters his life.

Take Me Home Tonight

This film looks funny. Coming out March 4 2011

As the summer of 1988 winds down, three friends on the verge of adulthood attend an out-of-control party in celebration of their last night of unbridled youth. Starring Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Dan Fogler and Teresa Palmer, Take Me Home Tonight is a raunchy, romantic and ultimately touching blast from the past set to an awesome soundtrack of timeless rock and hip-hop hits. Recent MIT grad Matt Franklin (Topher Grace) should be working for a Fortune 500 company and starting his upward climb to full-fledged yuppie-hood. Instead, the directionless 23-year-old confounds family and friends by taking a part-time job behind the counter of a video store at the Sherman Oaks Galleria. But Matt's silent protest against maturity comes to a screeching halt once his unrequited high school crush, Tori Frederking (Teresa Palmer), walks into the store. When she invites him to an epic, end-of-summer party, Matt thinks he finally might have a chance with the girl of his dreams. With his cynical twin sister Wendy (Anna Faris) and best friend Barry (Dan Fogler), Matt embarks on a once-in-a-lifetime evening. From stealing a car to a marriage proposal to an indescribable, no-holds-barred dance-off, these friends share experiences that will change the course of their lives on one unforgettable night in the Go-Go '80s.

Black Swan

I was able to go to my local indie theater and see the new movie everyone is buzzing about called "Black Swan." Talk about a crazy psychological thriller. The acting is done so well that for a minute I thought I was going crazy like the characters in the film.

Here is the synopsis:

A psychological thriller set in the world of New York City ballet, Black Swan stars Natalie Portman as Nina, a featured dancer who finds herself locked in a web of competitive intrigue with a new rival at the company (Mila Kunis).

Kill the Irishman

Happy Monday to all!

I just wanted to start the day off with a few films coming out next year.
First, "Kill the Irishman" which comes out March 11 2011
As a Christopher Walken fan, I will pretty much see anything he puts out.

Here is the synopsis:

Over the summer of 1976, thirty-six bombs detonate in the heart of Cleveland while a turf war raged between Irish mobster Danny Greene (Ray Stevenson) and the Italian mafia. Based on a true story, "Kill the Irishman" chronicles Greene's heroic rise from a tough Cleveland neighborhood to become an enforcer in the local mob. Turning the tables on loan shark Shondor Birns (Christopher Walken) and allying himself with gangster John Nardi (Vincent D'Onofrio), Greene stops taking orders from the mafia and pursues his own power. Surviving countless assassination attempts from the mob and killing off anyone who went after him in retaliation, Danny Greene's infamous invincibility and notorious fearlessness eventually led to the collapse of mafia syndicates across the U.S. and also earned him the status of the man the mob couldn't kill.

footwear concept lets you walk in vacuum shoes

I'm back, I know I know. I had to go into hibernation for Thanksgiving. Its been way too much football on to sit in front of a computer but I'm BACK.

I have an interesting device I came across on Engadget. Check this out..

They may not be the first vacuum shoes to emerge in concept form, but these so-called Foki shoes from designer Adika Titut Triyugo are certainly the most stylish -- at least in an ASIMO chic sort of way. They also boast a few new tricks not seen before, including an LED display on top that indicates how much dirt you've picked up, and a unique deign that allows them to be completely folded up when not in use. Of course, "concept" is the key word here, but we've got to guess there's an untapped market out there for wearable appliances. Dust Buster gloves, anyone? - Engadget

BattleRoyale Limited Edition Box set

Oh sweet Battle Royale. I can't even count how many people I've introduced you to. Well Nov 29th, you will be introducing us to the wonderful world of Beat Takashi.

Here is the synopsis:

"At the dawn of the new millennium, Japan is in a state of near-collapse. Unemployment is at an all-time high, and violence amongst the nation's youth is spiralling out of control. With school children boycotting their lessons and physically abusing their teachers, a beleagured and near-defeated government decides to introduce a radical new measure: the Battle Royale Act.

Overseen by a former teacher, (Takeshi Kitano), and requiring that a randomly chosen school class be taken to a deserted island and forced to fight each other to the death, the Act dictates that only one pupil be allowed to survive the punishment. He or she will return, not as the victor, but as the ultimate proof of the lengths to which the government are prepared to go to curb the tide of juvenile disobediance.

One of the most controversial films of all time, clever, creepy and ultra-violent, Battle Royale is the jewel in the crown of Japanese Shock Cinema." - Play.com

Universal remote in a pillow. Sweet lazy bliss!

So, in order to make you even more lazy Brookstone offers a remote that allows you to change the channel with your tongue. This is great for the fans that eat 80 wings and down 12 beers on a Sunday. Here is what engadget had to say...

It's a pillow. And a remote. And if your powers of observation are anywhere near "strong," you've probably deduced by now that you're looking at a universal remote control... albeit one that's wrapped within a pillow. We've seen similar creations come around in concept form, but leave it to the folks at Brookstone to turn this thing into a reality. Purportedly, this unit can be programmed to work with over 500 devices, and there's a power-saving auto shutoff feature that'll definitely be overrode by your incessant squeezing. We wouldn't count on this thing actually working well, but for $29.95 (in addition to the cost of two AAA batteries, of course), we highly doubt you'll find a more fashionable, lovable cube of cotton.-Brookstone

iTunes users get Exicted! Announcement tomorrow!

Apple just updated its homepage with a new splash screen teasing an "exciting announcement from iTunes" at 10AM ET tomorrow, saying that "Tomorrow is just another day. That you'll never forget." What could it be? What could it be?

iPhone stand gives your phone a tail

The Mobile Tail is basically an iPhone stand that’s designed to look exactly like a dog’s tail. Unfortunately, the design remains a concept for now, but hopefully, we’ll see it produced in the near future. Phone Springs to Life When Receiving Calls

How often do you miss a call because you just don’t notice your phone ringing? How much easier would it be to notice the ringing if your phone could stand up and announce itself? This super-fun concept Nokia phone, called the Nokia Kinetic, from design student Jeremy Innes-Hopkins was meant to be as playful as possible, which it achieves with its unusual talent. - Gajitz

The design innovations don’t end with the stand-out stand-up feature. The phone’s camera shutter button is located at the bottom right of the body, meaning that you hold the device just like a digital camera when taking a picture. The slightly thickened base of the phone makes it easy to grip, though it might be thick enough to discourage some people from wanting to carry it around.
But the stand-out feature of this phone is undoubtedly its ability to stand up on its edge when it receives a phone call. It achieves this surprising feat with the use of an electromagnet in the base that shifts, allowing the whole thing to stand up and let you know when someone wants to get in touch with you. Tapping the phone gets it to lie down again.
Two taps will set the phone’s manual stand-up mode, making it easier to watch movies, look at pictures or listen to music. A proximity sensor in the phone tells it when it’s in your pocket so it doesn’t stand up at inappropriate times. Of course, the Nokia Kinetic is just a student project and not an actual product, but it’s not hard to imagine it making it to the market one day.

Massive 58-inch MultiTouch iPhone Table

This is crazy!
Table Connect for iPhone is a superb project which makes an exact copy of the iPhone onto a huge 4 feet 10 inch table.  All of the same mulitouch movements (swipe, pinch, etc.) apply.  We have seen some epic DIY furniture before, but nothing comes close to this fully functioning 58″ capacitive multi-touch surface.

To have one for yourself, you have to get a large capacitive surface that will double up as a table (probably incredibly expensive). Once you have that, you’re pretty much all set.  All you have to do is jailbreak an iPhone and use the Table Connect app. Any iPhone model can be connected to the multi-touch surface with a standard dock connector. What you get finally is a much larger screen to play around with your iPhone apps, pinch-zoom and everything.

ZTE Peel for iPod touch hits Sprint November 14

Today, Sprint confirmed that the iPod touch sleeve will indeed be available on that day and added a few extra details along with it as well. In case you’re hearing about the ZTE Peel for the very first time just now, it’s basically a sleeve that goes over your iPod touch and allows it to connect to the Internet via Sprint’s 3G network. Pretty neat, right? You might also be able to get some VoIP action on it, too. Here’s what Sprint tells us:
• Provides 3G Internet access wirelessly.
Hardware design is meant for versions 2 & 3 of an iPod Touch to slide in and stay in securely in normal use situations.
• Universal Wi-Fi compatibility with 802.11b and 802.11g.
• Supports up to 2 Wi-Fi enabled devices to be connected at the same time.
• Compatible with Windows® 7, Vista®, XP® and Macintosh® OS 10.5 and 10.6.
• Advanced security through WEP 64 Bit (Open or shared).
• Simple to connect with Hands-Free Activation.
• Easy to use Admin UI.
• No software installation required.
• Internal antenna.
• Dimensions: 4.8” x 2.62” x .86”, 3.2 oz.
• Main Display: 3.2” CGS (320 x480 HVGA).
• Standard 900 mAH Li-Ion Battery, up to 3 hours of active use time.
Not a shabby way to get your iPod touch connected when you’re not in a Wi-Fi hotspot or covered area. And with a huge chunk of iOS applications functioning only when data is available, the ZTE Peel doesn’t look like such a bad option.
The Peel is going to go for about $80 and will come with a $30 data plan that allows you 1GB of data. You be the judge of whether it’s worth it to you, but also note that these things are designed for the second and third generation iPod touches. No word on whether it will work with the fourth – the newest model with the front and rear cameras and retina display. - intomobile

Bob's Burgers - Coming Soon

There is a new animated show coming to FOX.
The show is set to air on Sundays after The Simpsons sometime in the middle of the 2010-2011.  The first season is expected to have thirteen episodes.

BOB’S BURGERS is a new animated series about a man, his family and a burger joint. A third-generation restaurateur, BOB BELCHER (H. Jon Benjamin, FAMILY GUY, “Archer”) runs Bob’s Burgers with the help of his wife and their three kids. Bob has big ideas about burgers, condiments and sides, but only a few thoughts on customer service and business management. Despite his greasy counters, lousy location and occasionally spotty service, Bob is convinced his burgers speak for themselves. Even though business is slow, Bob gets to work with his family. His wife, LINDA BELCHER (John Roberts, “The Christmas Tree,” “Jackie & Debra”), supports Bob’s dream through thick and thin (but truth be told, she’s getting a little sick of the thin). Their eldest daughter, TINA (Dan Mintz, “Important Things with Demetri Martin,” “The Andy Milonakis Show”), is a 13-year-old hopeless romantic with minimal social skills. Middle child GENE (Eugene Mirman, “Flight of the Conchords,” “Aqua Teen Hunger Force”) is an aspiring musician and a prankster who serves up more jokes than burgers. Their youngest, LOUISE (Kristen Schaal, “Flight of the Conchords,” “Modern Family”), is the most enthusiastic about her dad’s business, but an off-balance sense of humor and her elevated energy level make her somewhat of a liability in the kitchen. Beyond the restaurant is a city rich with character. Next door to Bob’s is It’s Your Funeral Home and Crematorium; down the street is Wonder Wharf, the oceanside amusement pier; and a few blocks away is Wagstaff Middle School, where Bob and Linda’s kids go to school. And across the street is Jimmy Pesto’s Pizzeria, Bob’s Burgers’ main competition and the thorn in Bob’s side.

SuckerPunch

Women, fighting, good storyline, nuff said...........

Suckerpunch IMDB

The movie features beautiful Emily Browning, wearing silver-blond pigtails and the biggest pair of fake eyelashes you've ever seen, as a young woman who's been assaulted, attacked and packed off to a mental hospital in the aftermath of her parents' death. Of course, this isn't your average loony bin. The whole place is populated exclusively by pretty young things—including fellow stars Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung—whose treatment regimen seems to include not only hard, floor-scrubbing labor, but also regular dance rehearsals at which they perfect their pole-dancing technique. (Some kind of progressive therapy, perhaps?) The trailer shows the asylum residents, lounging around their barracks-style bedroom wearing thigh-high fishnets and lingerie, dreaming of escape from their hell.

This is where things get crazy. Carla Gugino shows up, Emily's character suddenly enters a grayscale dreamworld and a guru with a gravelly voice tells her that she and her friends can win their freedom by finding five objects hidden in this imaginary mindscape. Hey, fun! It's like a scavenger hunt! Except with knives, and murders! Because of course, there is an army of enemy robots dressed like samurai. There is a post-apocalyptic landscape punctuated by fiery, flying balls of exploding shrapnel. There is a two-story-tall beast made of what looks like movable concrete with giant horns and a jetpack flamethrower. And of course, there's Emily, charging through fire and slicing apart armies of metal soldiers, dressed in an outfit that can best be described as naughty-schoolgirl-meets-nautical-ninja.

Glasses Free 3D Android phone is here.....Kinda

Hey, what could the maker of the 3DS' autostereoscopic display be doing in its spare time? Why, stealing a bit of thunder for itself, by the looks of it. Sharp has just trotted out a pair of glasses-free 3D Android handsets for Japan's Softbank network in the form of the touchscreen slate 003SH and QWERTY-slidin' 005SH. A 1GHz Snapdragon powers Froyo on both, with the 3D-capable displays stretching to 3.8 inches and 800 x 480 resolution. The 003SH also comes with a 9.6 megapixel camera capable of 720p video, while the 005SH settles for 8 megapixels. There are also bundled 3D content deals in place, such as the one with Capcom that will see Mega Man, Resident Evil and Ghosts 'n Goblins titles coming preloaded on the handsets. Intrigued? The 003SH is coming this December, to be followed by the 005SH in February. - engadget

Unlock your hotel room with your cellphone

I thought this was pretty cool.........

Just think of it, no more hanging around your hotel's front desk like some unrefined homo erectus. The Clarion Hotel in Stockholm is starting up a new pilot program to allow visitors to check in and collect their room key without the repugnant need for speaking to an actual human being -- it can all be done with an NFC-equipped mobile phone. Provided your smartphone can do the near-field communications dance, all your information can be remotely downloaded, stored, and wiped (if need be), and you can even check out from a room using the accompanying application. Samsung handsets are being provided to selected customers during the period of this trial, though once its four-month incubation period is over, you'll have to bring your own bit of advanced telephony to avoid the queues. We're sure you'll think of something. Video and full press release after the break. -engadget

The Walking Dead

For Halloween it looks like a pretty good show starting tonight. It's called The Walking Dead. I've never really been a big fan of Zombies. The Walking Dead tells the story of the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse and follows a small group of survivors traveling across the United States in search of a new home away from the hordes of zombies. The group is led by Rick Grimes, who was a police officer in the old world. As their situation grows more and more grim, the group's desperation to survive pushes them to do almost anything to stay alive. -wiki

Playstation Phone is real!

So it seems that all those rumors about the playstation phone are REAL! Looks like it will run Android 2.?? or 3.0 and they will call it the Zeus.

Here is what Engadget had to say:

Based on what we've heard about the secrecy of this plan, it makes sense that even Sony's own employees wouldn't be privy to information on the phone, the marketplace, and the collaboration with Google. The alleged Sony response to the device makes that somewhat clear -- reports state that an employee originally told a publication that the images were fake, only to backtrack and deliver the standard corporate line that the company "doesn't respond to rumor and speculation." It's possible that whomever was originally questioned either didn't know of the device's existence, was lying about its existence, or simply had their response taken out of context. And that brings us to our point -- while there will be plenty of speculation on whether or not what we've shown you is real, we would never run the images or the information without a healthy sense that we were bringing you fact, and not fiction.

Oh Hell Naw!!

Since this site focuses on a variety of topics, I guess we can add one more focus area. That would be "Hot Mess" category. You all know him from his rant about the Bedroom Intruder, which gave him 15.5 minutes of fame as well as an itunes single. Well here is Antoine Dodson doing his best "Billy Mays" impression promoting a new "Sex offender app."

The Sex Offender Tracker app can be purchased in the iTunes App Store or the Android Market for just $1.99. It’s an augmented reality app that is sort of like Layar: using your smartphone’s camera, the application shows where registered sex offenders are located as you point the camera around.

“Basically, if these people did done bad and they’re near your pad, the Sex Offender Tracker is gonna show you where they at,” says Dodson.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Android - Does size matter?

I've started to see a lot of Android tablets running around trying to compete with the Apple ipad but none of them have really put the "official" tag behind them as a real competitor to the ipad. Well, I guess Samsung is trying to make that move. I wonder if the marketing will be behind it?

Here is what intomobile.com had to say about the device:

The Galaxy Tab improves on the Galaxy S’s proven formula for success with a perfectly-sized screen, media distribution stores that aren’t anything to scoff at, and uncompromised hardware. It features a 7-inch display, the 1Ghz Hummingbird chip from the Galaxy S, 3G cellular connectivity (with microphone), WiFi (B/G/N), GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, 3-megapixel rear-facing camera (with LED flash) and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, Android 2.2 Froyo, gyroscope, digital compass, accelerometer, light sensor, and a 4000 mAh battery. The Tab will be available with either 16GB or 32GB of onboard storage. As far as Android tablets are concerned, this may be just what the little, green robot ordered.Because it’s running Android 2.2 Froyo out of the box, the Galaxy Tab will come preloaded with the Adobe Flash 10.1 Player, allowing you to stream embedded Flash videos and interact with Flash menus on the web. You also get Thunkfree Office for editing Microsoft Office documents, as well as the Swype keyboard to make typing as easy as dragging your finger across the keyboard. And, with a fully functional 3G cellular radio on board, the Tab is capable of making phone calls using the onboard microphone and speaker or a headset of some sort (wired or Bluetooth). It’s essentially a giant Galaxy S smartphone, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing – remember, the iPad was called a giant iPod Touch just before it went on to sell millions of units.
Speaking of being very similar to a Galaxy S, Samsung made sure that the Galaxy Tab has a couple legs up on its smartphone cousin. First off, the Tab can play 1080p HD video with full hardware decoding. The Galaxy S can only play 720p video. The Tab also includes a massive 4,000 mAh battery that should be good for multiple days of surfing the web, reading books and watching movies. The TouchWiz 3.0 UI that Samsung has skinned atop the Android 2.2 OS has been tweaked with a new “rotation lock” button accessible via the pull-down notifications tray. The front-facing camera means that video chats are also a go. This might seem trivial, but it gives the Samsung tablet a leg up on the iPad.

There’s also a custom calendar app, contacts app, and email app that is tailored for the tablet’s larger display. The calendar and contacts apps offer a custom dual-pane landscape view that’s made to work with the Tab in landscape orientation. The custom email app offers a dual-pane landscape view that’s similar to the iPad’s email client, but one-ups the Apple tablet with a unified email inbox. The calendar, contacts and email apps all integrate with Google services.
Samsung has also blessed the Tab with a Music Hub and Reader Hub, in addition to the Media Hub, to give the user access to downloadable media. You can buy music, ebooks, newspapers, magazines, movies, and TV shows through these “hubs.”
Still, it’s not all is roses and rainbows with the Galaxy Tab. We have to wonder how the Tab’s high-resolution 1024×600 WSVGA display will work with currently available Android apps. Samsung has confirmed that not all of the Top 200 Android apps in the Android Market are optimized to take full advantage of the tablet’s 7-inch display. This could pose a problem going forward, as most other Android devices make use of displays at a maximum resolution of 800×480. The iPad, for example, can double-up on pixels for iPhone apps that aren’t optimized for the iPad’s larger screen and higher resolution. The Tab doesn’t have this functionality, as far as we know, which could be a problem. For it’s part, Samsung is saying that they are working with Google to reach out to developers to encourage them to create apps that can scale to the 1024×600 resolution display on the Galaxy Tab. We’re also told that an update to Android 3.0 Gingerbread will be available for the tablet in the future.
Overall, though, the most impressive aspect of the Tab is its size. It’s thin enough to be sexy, which is only complemented by its glossy back cover. The 7-inch screen is incredibly hand-friendly. You can comfortably hold the screen with one hand, and typing on the on-screen keyboard is ridiculously easy. The Tab could give iPad reason to worry!
Keep in mind that not all features may make it to the US. All features described here are for the international version.

Load N Launch Technology?

Talk about getting the ultimate PROMOTION!
The NBA has banned a new shoe from a company, Athletic Propulsion Labs, that "so called" gives the player an unfair advantage while wearing the shoes on the court. The product gives you a noticeable increase in your vertical jump. Damn. Where was this when I was in High School? I guess for $300, they still would not have been in my closet. The real question is, Where do I buy stock?
Check out the WEBSITE
Here is what the company is saying:

Load 'N Launch™ Technology

The vast majority of athletic footwear companies focus their research and development efforts on shock absorption and cushioning.  While this is clearly important in the manufacture of athletic footwear, it does little to help increase the vertical leap of an athlete. In fact, most technologies in the athletic footwear market are in the heel area of the shoe, though jumping occurs in the forefoot just in front of the ball of the foot through the toes.  The forefoot is the most critical part of the basketball shoe for vertical leaping and this is where the Athletic Propulsion Labs™ Load ‘N Launch™ system is located.
The technology itself features a unique device that serves as a “launch pad” housed inside a cavity at the front of the shoe, which compresses (The “Load” phase) and then releases (The “Launch” phase) as the athlete exerts force on the front of the foot.  The patent pending Load ‘N Launch device is uniquely designed to capture the maximum amount of energy through the compression caused by exerting pressure on the forefoot and then releasing the energy through the propulsion and liftoff stage to increase vertical leap. The device works in unison with a high-pressure Thermoplastic Urethane shank that extends through the arch of the foot.  This serves to help stabilize the foot and efficiently transfer energy created by the athlete toward the area of the basketball shoe that impacts vertical leap.
In testing situations, athletes have experienced increases of several inches on their vertical leap wearing Athletic Propulsion Labs™ basketball shoes with the Load ‘N Launch™ technology.  In some cases, athletes who were the proverbial “inches away” from being able to dunk a basketball on the regulation 10-foot basket, were able to dunk the ball when wearing Athletic Propulsion Labs™ shoes.  These are not training shoes.  Athletic Propulsion Labs™ has created actual playing shoes designed to make players jump higher during a game – increasing the benefits to a player’s jump shot, rebounding, dunking and shot blocking ability.
While results will vary based upon the athletic ability and physical conditioning of those wearing Athletic Propulsion Labs™ shoes, the Load ‘N Launch™ technology is designed to provide an instant advantage to virtually everyone who wears the product and engages in jumping on a basketball court.

A New Way to look at TV

It's been 5 months since we have been waiting patiently for Google TV and it's  here. If you are a comcast customer like myself you understand how important this is. This just puts me one step closer to telling Comcast where they can stick their cable service. Of course this will not eliminate cable altogether but it's a start.  Its all about personalizing your TV experience and Google is mastering the process. Here are some of the features courtesy of google.com/tv:

1) The web is now a channel

With Google Chrome and Adobe Flash Player 10.1, Google TV lets you access everything on the web. Watch your favorite web videos, view photos, play games, check fantasy scores, chat with friends, and do everything else you're accustomed to doing online. Plus, the world's best websites are now being perfected for television -- check out our Spotlight gallery for examples.

2) A new world of apps for your TV

Google TV will come pre-loaded with apps like Netflix, Twitter, CNBC, Pandora, Napster, NBA Game Time, Amazon Video On Demand and Gallery. Starting early next year, apps from Android Market will work on Google TV as well.

3) Your phone = remote control
Your Android phone or iPhone can be used to control your Google TV in place of a remote control. Use your voice to search, and even use multiple phones to control the same TV. No more fighting over the remote!
3) Fling a video to your television
Find a great website on your phone and want to show it to everyone? Now you can. "Fling" what you're watching, listening to, or doing on your phone by sending it to your TV with the press of a button.

4) Watch it now

Never miss a show again. With Google TV, you can access over 40,000 shows and movies whenever you want with Netflix ($8.99 a month) or Amazon Video On Demand (shows start at 99 cents!).

5) YouTube perfected for TV

YouTube is great on the web, but it's even better on television. With YouTube Leanback, you can watch videos without ever clicking play -- just sit back and watch all of your favorite YouTube content, personally chosen for you, in full screen HD. You can even create new channels on the fly.

6) Watch and browse,
simultaneously

With Google TV, you can browse the web or open an app and watch TV on the same screen. Check your fantasy football stats while watching the game, check your @replies on Twitter during American Idol, or purchase a product online right after you watch the ad. It's just like picture-in-picture mode, but with the web and the TV.
7) TV gets a homepage
Turn on your television and you'll instantly have access to your favorite channels, apps, podcasts, and websites, thanks to the Google TV home screen. The home screen is customizable for you, by you, so that you can always change your preferences.

8) Create a TV playlist
Want to watch something, but don't have time right now? Send it to your Google Queue and watch it later. You can also subscribe to your favorite websites and video podcasts, add YouTube videos, and more. It's like building a DVR for the web.

9) Record from the search bar

If you're a DISH Network subscriber using Google TV, you’ll enjoy many enhanced TV and DVR features, including recording a show right from the search bar and being able to search all of your recordings at once.

10) Rock out in your living room

Listen to your favorite music on the best speakers in your house by creating a personal radio station on the fly with Pandora or listening to any song, any time, with Napster.

11) The ultimate picture frame

Turn the biggest screen in your house into a beautiful, high definition photo gallery. Now your TV can stream photos from Picasa, Flickr, and every other photo-sharing site. Plus, you can access any public gallery, not just your own.

12) Over-the-air updates

How many consumer electronics products go up in value after you buy them? Google TV updates itself automatically, so you'll get new features for free.

Great One (part 1)

Because I am such a movie freak, everyone always asks me, "what's you favorite movie?" I thought about movies I use to watch a lot. That didn't necessarily mean they were great movies. For example, I might know every word to "HalfBaked" from watching it 100 times in college, but can I say it was a great movie? uuhhh, not really. So, here is my favorite movie ever....

OLDBOY

The cinematography is CRAZY. You can pause the film at anytime and the image you see on the screen could be a wonderfully taken photo in your house(if your house was as dark as the movie itself). The score is a beautiful contrast from the story but somehow fits perfectly. Some might say that the movie can be a little weird at times, but what else do you expect from Chan-wook Park. Just go look up "three Extremes." Oldboy is part of a trilogy called "The Vengeance Trilogy."

After being kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years, Oh Dae-Su is released, only to find that he must find his captor in 5 days. - IMDB

If you haven't seen this film, you are missing out...................

TV, movie, and internet show YOU should be watching!

Ok, Ok. I finally did it. Blog this, blog that. I just want to talk, that's all. I come across interesting things everyday and would love to share them with you. I decided to break it down into categories:

The Good
The Bad
The Ugly

My post might sound like a deranged lunatic who was just given a computer. If you think that, then I'm doing my job.
Sometimes I might just give my opinion, or suggest something to the world. I love opinions, just not yours. jk
So, for my first post I will only give you The Good because someone once told me to always start your blog out on a positive note. (That person had to shut his blog down cause it was too corny)

THE GOOD

Between 2 Ferns

WEBSITE

Its a great series of videos from Zach Galifianakis. He interviews celebrities and takes it where ever he wants to. I've been watching these for months now but my wife just discovered it and cussed me out for not showing her earlier. So, in the spirit of not getting cussed out by anyone else, enjoy!

The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret

IFC network’s series “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret”. It is about an American (Cross) who takes a job running the sales team at the London branch of his company, but who has no experience of British culture, knows nothing about sales, and has only one employee. The show reunites Cross with “Arrested Development” co-star Will Arnett, who will also appear together on the FOX sitcom “Running Wilde”. -rlslog.net

Catfish

Everyone keeps talking about this movie (ie. my wife). It was the talk of Sundance, which might not really mean too much. It is suppose to have a crazy ending. We are planning on watching it tonight, so I know you will be waiting on my opinion.........
